Our Story
From the Cab of a Machine to Running the Company
Before Apex Earthworks existed, our founder spent years in the site preparation industry working for someone else. That time was spent on job sites operating heavy equipment, managing land clearing projects, and preparing properties for development, the kind of hands-on experience that cannot be learned from a manual.
Somewhere in those years, the idea of running an independent company took hold and would not let go. Eventually the equipment got purchased and the leap got taken, because the alternative, always wondering what if, was worse than the risk.
That decision became Apex Earthworks. Every project since has been a chance to show that the leap was worth taking.

I am doing a lot split and was taking estimates for land clearing and a culvert. Mike came out and was very informative about everything that is involved (since I don't know anything about land clearing or culverts, I've never been thru this process before) in clearing the land of pine trees and where the best placement for the culvert would be. Mike texted and called over a two week period of time to follow up with any questions that I may of had. I was finally able to sit down and go over the estimates this past Friday (7/17/26) with the person who will be placing a manufactured home on the lot.... we scoured over the estimates and it came down to 2 contractors.... (Apex Earthworks and one other)...we really liked both of them. They were comparable in price and the scope of work. It came down to who could do the work as soon as possible. Even tho we decided to go with a different company.... I APPRECIATE everything that Mike did to accommodate our needs. His company was highly recommend.... and I see why... he educates the customer, he is honest, and very "customer" oriented. I appreciated that Mike always took time to answer my questions. He was awesome. Even tho the land clearing job didn't work out.... I definitely will be contacting him in the future for an estimate on the driveway. Wow. Mike and his crew got after it. We found APEX because my wife caught one of their videos online. We recently moved into our forever home and the front yard was a train wreck. For whatever reason previous owners put a fence and black top dead center of the front yard. When you tell people that your front yard looks like Hell, and they overwhelmingly agree with you, you know it’s hot garbage. Mike and his guys removed the fence, without damaging it, broke up the blacktop, hauled it off, ground down some stumps, leveled the yard, raked out a ridiculous amount of roots and root vines, hauled in (and leveled) several trucks of top soil, and even seeded the ground. Now we’ll see how bad my grass game is. Already plan to use them again to clear the back of our property in the fall. You won’t find a better, more down to earth (pun intended), or more fair priced, crew. If you’re trying to decide to go with them, or another company, watch the videos.
