Land clearing contractor for Lake Butler properties

Serving Lake Butler as a Trusted Land Clearing Contractor

Lake Butler sits at the crossroads of US-441 and SR 100, surrounded by cattle ranches, hay fields, and pine plantations that stretch out toward the New River. As a land clearing contractor working this part of Union County, Apex Earthworks understands the mix of agricultural and commercial ground that defines the area, from parcels near the Union County Fairgrounds to timber tracts tucked back off County Road 231.

We work directly with landowners, general contractors, and developers who need acreage opened up, graded, and made buildable without wasted time. Whether the job sits along the lake itself or out on a working ranch, our equipment and crews are sized for large-scale results, not small backyard trimming. Our crews are equipped for cattle land, timber tracts, and commercial parcels that need real production, not a weekend crew with a bush hog.

Beyond clearing, we also take on driveway repair and access road grading for property owners whose entrances have taken a beating from Union County's rainfall patterns. If a project needs both vegetation removed and the ground underneath brought up to a working grade, we handle it as one coordinated job.

Terrain and vegetation around Lake Butler

Soil, Drainage, and Vegetation Challenges in the Lake Butler Area

Union County's land around Lake Butler runs from sandy uplands near the highways to heavier clay and low-lying flatwoods closer to the New River and its tributary creeks. That mix affects how a site drains, how equipment moves, and what it takes to prep ground correctly the first time.

Common challenges our crews plan for in this area include:

  • Dense palmetto and underbrush clearing across pastureland and old timber cuts
  • Standing water and poor runoff on low, clay-heavy parcels near the river bottoms
  • Loose, sandy soils along the highway corridors that need compaction before building
  • Ditches and low crossings that call for driveway culvert installation to keep private roads passable
  • Pine plantations with heavy root mass left behind after harvest
  • Seasonal flooding risk on parcels close to the New River floodplain

Services available in Lake Butler, FL

Site Preparation and Land Clearing Services for Lake Butler

Developers, ranch owners, and general contractors in Lake Butler call on Apex Earthworks for the heavy work that has to happen before a project can move forward. That covers clearing and our forestry mulching services, plus site preparation, driveway and access road construction, and structural demolition, all run by one crew so each phase flows into the next.

Here is what we offer directly to Lake Butler and the surrounding Union County area:

Land Clearing Across Union County

From commercial lots along US-441 to multi-acre estates, brush-choked pasture, and right-of-way corridors out past County Road 231, we clear Lake Butler ground at production scale. Palmettos, underbrush, and leftover timber come out so the parcel is ready for its next use.

Site Preparation for Lake Butler Builds

As an excavation contractor, we grade, compact, and shape the ground so foundations and slabs sit on a stable base. On clay-heavy flatwoods toward the New River, that includes excavation, drainage work, and culverts that move water off the site instead of letting it pool.

Forestry Mulching for Lake Butler Acreage

Our mulchers grind trees, brush, and palmettos in a single pass, leaving a protective layer on the soil with no hauling or burning. It is a fast fit for overgrown hay fields, harvested pine plantations, and timber tracts around Lake Butler.

Driveway and Access Road Construction off SR 100

Ranch entrances, commercial yards, and estate drives off SR 100 need a road that holds up to trucks, trailers, and Union County rain. We build a heavy-duty sub-base, grade it for runoff, and compact it to carry real loads year after year.

Structural Demolition in Lake Butler

Aging commercial buildings in town, old barns and equipment sheds on working farms, and larger residential structures come down under controlled conditions. We remove foundations and haul debris so the Lake Butler lot is left build-ready.

How we handle Lake Butler projects

Our Process for Land Clearing and Site Prep Projects

Every Lake Butler project starts with a walk of the land, whether that is a fenced-off pasture or a commercial lot along US-441. From there, our process stays the same regardless of acreage.

  1. Site Visit and Scope Review

We walk the property with the owner or project manager, note terrain, vegetation density, and any drainage concerns, then put together a clear scope before equipment ever arrives.

    STEP 01
  2. Equipment Mobilization

Mulchers, excavators, and grading equipment are brought on-site and staged based on access points, keeping disruption to neighboring roads and fields to a minimum.

    STEP 02
  3. Clearing, Mulching, and Grading

Our crews clear, mulch, and grade the site to the agreed specifications, managing debris and drainage as the work progresses instead of leaving it for cleanup later.

    STEP 03
  4. Final Walkthrough and Handoff

Once work is complete, we walk the finished site with the client to confirm it meets the project scope and is ready for the next phase of construction or use.

    STEP 04

It was guessed that a wind shear came through and uprooted 3 oaks, one went into our garage. After seeing his, Mike’s videos on Facebook, I decided to reach out. So, so glad I did, even impressed the husband!! Mike and crew were phenomenal! Now we do not have to worry about any trees damaging the house or garage.

Mike and his crew from Apex Earthworks were fantastic. I had put off a land clearing job ever since our last two hurricanes and my property and pastures were a mess. Much more debris than what I could handle myself. Apex came in with a Forestry Mulcher for three days and the rest is history. The entire property has been restored to pre-hurricane standards. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Apex Earthworks to anyone needing land clearing.

I am doing a lot split and was taking estimates for land clearing and a culvert. Mike came out and was very informative about everything that is involved (since I don't know anything about land clearing or culverts, I've never been thru this process before) in clearing the land of pine trees and where the best placement for the culvert would be. Mike texted and called over a two week period of time to follow up with any questions that I may of had. I was finally able to sit down and go over the estimates this past Friday (7/17/26) with the person who will be placing a manufactured home on the lot.... we scoured over the estimates and it came down to 2 contractors.... (Apex Earthworks and one other)...we really liked both of them. They were comparable in price and the scope of work. It came down to who could do the work as soon as possible. Even tho we decided to go with a different company.... I APPRECIATE everything that Mike did to accommodate our needs. His company was highly recommend.... and I see why... he educates the customer, he is honest, and very "customer" oriented. I appreciated that Mike always took time to answer my questions. He was awesome. Even tho the land clearing job didn't work out.... I definitely will be contacting him in the future for an estimate on the driveway. If you are looking for someone that is honest, reliable and his price is good.... Give Mike at Apex Earthworks a call. I look forward to possibly using your in the future for jobs. Thank you Mike!

Mike and his crew were referred to me by a current contractor work at my home. Mike showed up with a great disposition and a firm handshake. He handled all of my grading and backfill needs, on time and on budget. I later reached out to Mike and inquired about my driveway ideas. Mike met with me and we discussed all the options available to me. Keeping my future plans in mind Mike was able to help design the perfect functioning driveway. To say we are pleased would be an understatement, My wife and I love it ! We couldn’t be happier. In closing I would recommend Apex Mulching and Land Management to anyone. Like everyone cost conscious these days, it was a relief knowing Mike was able to complete the job on budget. Thanks again Mike !

Wow. Mike and his crew got after it. We found APEX because my wife caught one of their videos online. We recently moved into our forever home and the front yard was a train wreck. For whatever reason previous owners put a fence and black top dead center of the front yard. When you tell people that your front yard looks like Hell, and they overwhelmingly agree with you, you know it’s hot garbage. Mike and his guys removed the fence, without damaging it, broke up the blacktop, hauled it off, ground down some stumps, leveled the yard, raked out a ridiculous amount of roots and root vines, hauled in (and leveled) several trucks of top soil, and even seeded the ground. Now we’ll see how bad my grass game is. Already plan to use them again to clear the back of our property in the fall. You won’t find a better, more down to earth (pun intended), or more fair priced, crew. If you’re trying to decide to go with them, or another company, watch the videos.
